Rui is a 21-year-old computer science student from Vila Nova de Gaia, Portugal. Aside from all the common passions of a young European, from travelling to attending gigs, he is particularly interested in politics, education and youth participation. He considers himself to be a European citizen and wants to help building this amazing yet imperfect Union of nations. Rui joined the #StandForSomething campaign to help promote active citizenship of the young population and to foster a meaningful debate on the future of the European Union.
